Whenever we go out into the sun, we ask our kids to wear wide-brimmed hats so their face and shoulders are covered, and their skin is shielded from the sun's rays.

I have one of these "pop" hats. They are great! You just twist the rims to fold them in half and either stuff in a pouch that comes with it or tie the chinstrap around it. It travels really well. Only problem is that when I got mine the only color available was white.
