Throwback Thursday: Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort, 2010

Giant Mickey Pumpkin
It's difficult to believe that the last time we visited the Disneyland Resort during the Halloween season was just 3 years ago.  It seems like a lifetime away!  Then again, for a 10 year-old, 3 years is an eternity, a third of their life.  So classifying these photos under #ThrowbackThursday is entirely appropriate, even though 3 years for us oldies is nothing.

Still, it's surprising how much the kids remember of that magical fall vacation.  They remember the Haunted Mansion Holiday, Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy, all the pumpkins on Main Street, our room at the Disneyland Hotel, their first ride on California Screaming.

They're going to get another chance to refresh their memory, because a bit of pixie dust has been sprinkled our way, and we'll be going back to the Disneyland Resort this fall!  We've been invited to Mickey's Halloween party by the Disneyland Resort, so we get to enjoy all the party festivities as well as all the Halloween decor.  We absolutely CANNOT wait. It's going to be a short weekend trip, and we'll be driving down to Anaheim, so we're probably going to be exhausted when it's over -- but when Mickey Mouse invites you to a party, you just can't say no!

By the way, lest you thieves and crooks take this as an opportunity to break into our home sometime in the next month and rob us blind, let me mention that Alfie won't be able to come with us.  We're extremely sad about it, and we'll miss him terribly.  It has always been my dream to attend Mickey's Halloween Party with each of us dressed as a character from Alice in Wonderland -- Alfie as the Mad Hatter, me as the Red Queen, The Pea as Alice, and the boys as Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum.  But I'm shelving that dream for now and saving it for when Alfie can join us.  But it can't be helped.  Alfie has tickets to another event the weekend we'll be gone, so he's staying home.  He really wants to attend his event, so at least he'll be enjoying himself (and watching over everything.  Be warned thieves, he grew up on the streets and he can Take. You. Down.).
