Better Banana Bread

I've always prided myself on my yummy banana bread. My sister gave me the recipe over a decade ago, and I've used it ever since. Once in a while I'll try another banana bread recipe, or a variation of banana bread, and they're usually very good, but not good enough to prevent me from going back to my tried-and-true recipe.

Until now.

This Chocolate Hazelnut Banana Bread is seriously the best banana bread ever. I made it on Superbowl Sunday to celebrate World Nutella Day. Their website has hundreds of recipes, and I picked this one because it sounded yummy and looked easy to make. Another reason I picked this recipe is because it was developed by my friend Vanessa from ChefDruck Musings. Vanessa is a blogger, a foodie, and most importantly, French, so I trust her judgement. And my faith was justified.

Everyone in the family enjoyed this moist, sweet bread, which is even more incredible considering I substituted a few ingredients. For one thing, the bananas weren't too ripe - -mine barely had any flecks of brown. Also, I substituted plain yogurt for the sour cream. So you can imagine how much better it would have been had I followed Vanessa's ingredient list to the letter. Even with my "watered-down" ingredients, it was delicious.

I don't even think you need the hazelnut spread; it would be delicious just as plain old banana bread. In fact, I think this is going to have to replace my old banana bread recipe (I'll save the hazelnut spread for special occasions).
