When I first began buying wooden train tracks (back when The Pea was a toddler), I complained about how expensive they were (and still are). But when you look at how much play the kids have gotten out of it, it's actually a great investment. Who would have thought a simple wooden bridge could provide so many hundreds of hours of fun? Even though they're older, my kids still love Thomas the Tank. In fact, we're planning to watch Thomas and Friends perform live on stage in Cupertino this March. Which means these wooden tracks and bridges are going to remain a favorite for quite a while.

I bet the pea had so much fun with that railway! Happy weekend

Oh yes it is nice one great for my son hehehe. Happy weekend.
ReplyDeleteBlocks are one of the toys that filled up hours of fun for both my kids as well. Expensive but a worthy investment :P

ReplyDeleteEr... you mean Thomas the Tank *Engine*, right? In any event, can see how the wooden train tracks can give a lot of pleasure over many years. :)

I completely agree! My kids love building all sorts of different layouts - it was a good investment!

My kids grew up with these - think we still have some around somewhere that the grandkids might use.

The great things about the wooden toys is they will last long enough for your grandchildren to enjoy. Good idea for the theme.

ReplyDeleteGreat bridges for the children. Cool shot.
ReplyDeleteWe all need to do a better job of building bridges, don't we?
ReplyDeleteGreat photo!
I still remember the little wooden train set I had when I was little. Probably went the way of many of my toys, via my brother who fed string into my record player, poured flour glue on my walking doll, and threw my doll dishes out the window... SIGN...
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment on mine!
What a great idea for a bridge. They don't really make them like they used to anymore.
ReplyDeleteI have updated the photo on my post to a "daytime" version. Come on by and check it out.
Fun entry. It's always great when you can get your money's worth out of kids toys and they actually play with them! I bought my fair share of toys my girls had to have and they played with them once or twice.
ReplyDeleteI have one of those around my house too. : )
ReplyDeleteOooo good one! I have some building blocks like that. They are my favorites.
ReplyDeleteThomas and Friends is a great hit among kids. My son is a great fan too and he has a big collection of Thomas and friends.
ReplyDeleteHave fun watching the live performance. We had a chance to watch Thomas and friends live when they came to the Philippines a few years ago.
Same with my kids-- but now instead of blocks, they use Legos. Great take for this week's theme.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my Photo Hunt last week. I am finally catching up!
